Born in the California mountains and bred in Los Angeles, Araya (rhymes with Papaya) grew up in the world of entertainment in the City of Angels. Naturally, she had a pull towards the arts and creative pursuits since a young age. Araya was given an old Brownie camera as a young child and quickly became fascinated by the world of photography. She felt compelled to pursue it while attending the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA), where she rekindled her love for photography and decided to pursue her passion in college.

After graduating from college, she moved to San Francisco, interning and working for various magazines and newspapers. She eventually landed jobs with big companies like Pixar, Disney, Lucas Film and Getty Images. Once she hit the peak of success in the Bay Area, she packed up and moved back to Los Angeles where she currently resides. Araya reconnected with the entertainment world in Los Angeles and now photographs premier parties and awards shows for Getty Images as well as for private clients. She also continues to photograph portraits, headshots, fashion and creative photography, remaining versatile and ready to work in studio, on location or travel destinations for the perfect photoshoot.
